This design captures through it's colour and imagery what Sunbird Straws stands for and translates it to visitors of the website.
This site helped Sunbird Straws increase their client portfolio and scale up their operations. It was a project I was proud to work on as a designer because I aligned myself with the mission of introducing biodegradable straws that reduce plastic waste while helping woman from rural communities provide for their households.

Sunbird Straws is an eco-friendly startup that produces multi-layer biodegradable straws from dried coconut leaves. The company first approached with the requirement of creating a single page website that would convey what the mission and vision of Sunbird Straws is, the community they help through this mission and how users can do their part.
In addition to presenting the final design, I also presented a few other design options to the client. Although the initial design, as shown above, received positive feedback, we conducted A/B testing to gain further insights on how to optimize user engagement and content arrangement. Additionally, we considered the developer's timeline and evaluated the visual design and storytelling effectiveness of each design option. As a result, we were able to identify the most effective design approach.
Looking through what the competition is doing and figuring out what they do well and what they can improve on was something I spent my time when coming up with the design for Sunbird Straws. There were elements like the testimonials and environmental mission that was well done by many similar eco-friendly startups that I felt would really benefit the company. However we wanted the users to keep scrolling and not just end it there, something a lot of these competitors suffered from.
Keeping content concise and straightforward helps users gain the critical message Sunbird is trying to convey. (Hello! we are Sunbird, this is what we do, this is who we help out, do you want to help and how you can play your part?)
Take a look at the alternatives and have your say on which one would have come out the winner of the two and why.
